Promotion of Odisha MP Anubhav Mohanty’s father cancelled for forgery

Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department today cancelled the placement of Abhaya Kumar Mohanty as English Reader following a departmental inquiry on alleged submission of fake certificate to get promotion.

In a notification, the Higher Education Department stated the placement of Mohanty as Reader with effective from January 2, 1997 in the scale of pay Rs 12,000-420-18,300 has been cancelled.

Mohanty, the Retired Lecturer in English, Kandarpur College in Cuttack district allegedly produced fake Refresher Course certificate. Following this, the department conducted an inquiry and found the allegation to be true.

Mohanty is father of Kendrapara MP and actor Anubhav Mohanty.

Earlier, on June 3, 2021, the Odisha Government withdrew extra pensionary benefits to the Kendrapara MP’s father Abhaya Kumar Mohanty over submission of fake certificate to get promotion as Reader.
