Pvt Covid vaccination centres in Odisha to procure vaccines directly from manufacturers

Bhubaneswar: As the Government of India allowed private hospitals to source Covid-19 vaccine doses from the manufacturers, the Odisha government today decided to order private Covid vaccine centres at district level stop charging up to Rs 250 per dose of vaccine from the beneficiaries.

The decision will come into effect from May 1, 2021.

Additional Chief Secretary of Health and Family Welfare department, PK Mahapatra in a letter to the District Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, CDMOs and PHOs to stop supplying Covid-19 vaccine to the private Covid vaccine centres after April 30, 2021.

Earlier, the Centre decided from May 1 private hospitals will procure 50% Covid-19 vaccine from the manufacturers directly, earmarked for other than the Government of India channels.
