Stray dog beaten to death after it bites over 30 people in Odisha’s Balasore
All the victims have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital and are currently undergoing treatment.
Balasore: In a shocking incident, a stray dog was beaten to death by angry locals after it bit over 30 persons in Sunhat area of Balasore district here today. Among the seriously wounded dog-bite victims are Rahmad Khan, Sheikh Amanul, Kamrul Bibi, Sheikh Kadar, Gopal Chandra Sethi, Sheikh Idrit and Benudhar Chand. All the 30 persons have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital and are currently undergoing treatment.
Sources said late on Friday night around 11 pm, the dog started biting people across wards 1, 4 and 11. The biting spree continued in the morning on Saturday when it attacked passersby. Locals claim the canine even entered the homes of people and bit them.
As over 30 persons were hurt from the dog bite, residents of the area got furious and reportedly beat the dog to death.
Meanwhile, as per latest reports, those victims who suffered minor injuries returned home after preliminary treatment.
