Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actress Varsha Priyadarshini has landed in a major controversy as she allegedly duped a woman of Rs 30,000 on the pretext of providing her a job in a jewellery shop in the city.

The woman, a resident of Bhubaneswar, has lodged a complaint in this regard with the Saheed Nagar police.

As per the allegation, the complainant met Varsha and her associate Ayushi Priyadarshini at Janata Maidan here in May when a fair was being held at the venue.

As the woman introduced herself as a fan of the actress, Varsha assured her of help and told her to be in touch with Ayushi.

Days later, the woman had a telephonic conversation with Varsha, during which the actress promised her of securing a job in the jewellery shop.

On July 15, Ayushi met the woman near Sriya Chhak here and asked her to give Rs 50,000 to Varsha for getting the job having monthly salary of Rs 25,000.

Ayushi told the victim that Rs 50,000 was meant for security deposit with the shop.

As the woman expressed her inability to pay the amount, Ayushi told her to talk to Varsha who asked her to give a minimum amount of Rs 30,000 for the job.

The complainant borrowed the money and deposited the amount in the bank account of Varsha on July 25.
