Bhubaneswar: At least nine districts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall and thunderstorm today, the Regional Meteorological Centre forecasted.
The districts likely to be affected are Angul, Mayurbhanj, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Jharsuguda, Deogarh and Sambalpur.
Thunderstorm with lightning and moderate to heavy rainfall are likely to occur over these districts between 1.45 pm and 4.45 pm today, a bulletin of the Meteorological Centre said.
On the other hand, cyclonic circulation over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts now lies over northern parts of West Bengal & neighbourhood and extends upto 7.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestwards with height. Under its influence, a low pressure area is very likely to form over coastal areas of West Bengal & neighbourhood by tomorrow.
