Weather update: Heavy rainfall alert for these Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: As the cyclonic circulation persists over the Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast, the Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar issued heavy rainfall alert for several districts of the State till September 21.

The cyclonic circulation over Northwest & adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal now lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of North Odisha-West Bengal-Bangladesh coasts extends between 1.5 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.

As per IMD’s midday weather bulletin, intense spell of rain may lash as many as 18 districts of Odisha today.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Puri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Nuapada, Balangir, Sonepur today. Such weather condition may continue in these districts till tomorrow morning.

The weather condition in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities is likely to remain partly cloudy sky with possibility of moderate rain or thundershowers today.
