Who is BJP’s CM candidate for Odisha? Party responds to BJD’s query

Bhubaneswar: Hours after BJD leader Sasmit Patra claimed that the BJP will announce its CM candidate for Odisha today, the saffron party said a decision in this regard will be taken by its parliamentary committee.

“They (BJD leaders) should think about their party rather than focusing on us. The BJD is falling short of proper leaders while an agent is running the party. Our parliamentary committee will decide BJP’s CM candidate for Odisha,” said State BJP President Manmohan Samal at a press conference.

“The BJD leaders can never understand our party. They don’t know how to elect a Chief Minister,” he said.

Samal remarked that BJD leaders are resorting to desperate measures by making statements against the Prime Minister. He said they are unwilling to accept their impending defeat. Samal expressed confidence that the elections in Odisha will be in the favour of the BJP.

On the other hand, Patra said the BJP could not announce the CM candidate today due to dispute among the aspirants.

“All of us had heard that Odisha BJP will declare their CM candidate today but there was so much quarrelling between aspirants that they could not still announce the candidate today. Odisha BJP cannot announce their CM candidate because as so as they announce, their party in Odisha will break into four parts,” Patra posted on ‘X’.
