Woman allegedly kills her husband over family feud in Odisha’s Ganjam, detained

Bhanjanagar: A middle-aged woman allegedly bludgeoned her husband to death today following an altercation at Chhamunda village under Jagannathprasad police limits in Ganjam district.

The victim man was identified as 55-year-old Kapila Behera, who belonged to the village.

According to a source, the couple indulged in a verbal spat earlier in the day. Things took an ugly turn when, in a fit of rage, the woman attacked the man leading to his untimely death.

Kapila was rescued by a team of local police from a pool of blood and was sent to hospital for treatment. However, doctors at the health facility declared him ‘dead’.

The couple indulged in a brawl since last night and the death is the fallout of a family feud, some locals said.

On being informed, Jagannathprasad police reached the spot and seized the body of Kapila and sent it to a nearby hospital for post-mortem. Police have detained the accused and initiated a probe.
