Yellow alert: Hot & humid weather condition to prevail in these Odisha districts till April 14

Bhubaneswar: With a cyclonic circulation over north Odisha becoming less marked and an east-west trough running from the above cyclonic circulation to north Odisha, hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places over some districts of Odisha during the next 48 hours.

Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places over some districts of Odisha during the three days thereafter, IMD regional centre forecasted today and issued a Yellow Warning for the next five days.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD stated, “Maximum temperatures observed marked rise at a few places over the districts of Odisha, appreciable rise at a few places over the districts of Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were markedly below normal at most places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably below normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably above normal at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, above normal at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, below normal at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: A gradual rise in the Maximum (day) temperature is likely by 5°C to 6°C during the next five days at many places over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 37.8°C was recorded yesterday at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 16.6°C was recorded at Angul in the plains of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

For Sunday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.04.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 15.04.2024)

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, and Nabarangpur and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
