Young couple found hanging in cashew orchard in Odisha’s Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: In a tragic incident, a young couple was found hanging from a tree at a cashew orchard near Jabaguda village under Dabugaon police limits in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district, today.

The deceased were identified as Damburudhara Harijan (19) of Damapala village under Papadahandi block in the district and Tilai Harijan (20) of Jabaguda village.

According to reports, Damburudhara was having a love affair with his uncle’s daughter Tilai for the last few years. Yesterday, he had gone to Jabaguda while Tilai went outside after having dinner with her family members.

Shockingly, their bodies were found hanging from the tree, this morning. Locals initially spotted the bodies and informed the police.

Cops have recovered the bodies for post-mortem and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Though the reason behind the deaths was yet to be ascertained, it is being suspected that the duo took the extreme step of dying by suicide as their family members were opposing their relationship.
