Youth hacks father to death over missing goat in Odisha’s Sundargarh

Rourkela: In a shocking incident, a youth hacked his father to death after he was reportedly questioned about a missing goat from their herd in Lahunipada of Sundargarh district in Odisha today. The accused, identified as Akash Munda of Ganighasa village under Lahunipada police limits, has been arrested.

Sources said Akash had taken his herd of goats for grazing. While returning, one of the goats went missing. When he reached home, his father Bhuban Munda asked him about the missing goat. The duo then reportedly had a heated exchange of words in this connection. As the spat got uglier, Akash thrashed his father and kept beating him until he collapsed. Hearing his screams, locals rushed to the spot and took a bleeding Bhuban to Lahunipada hospital but he succumbed during treatment.

Police on getting information reached the spot and arrested Akash while starting an investigation. A case has been registered.
