2 dead, 2 others critically injured as speeding car hits dumper on NH-16

Bhadrak: As many as two persons died on the spot and two more sustained grievous injuries after a speeding car, which was on its way to Puri Shrimandir, rammed into a dumper in Bhadrak.

According to an eyewitness, driver of the ill-fated car lost control over the vehicle and hit the dumper from behind on NH-16 in the district. The two deceased belonged to neighbouring West Bengal.

A police official stated that four persons were travelling in the car from West Bengal to Puri to pay their obeisance to the Holy Trinity. However, they met with accident midway near Bishnupur Square.

Some locals rescued the two injured and rushed them to Bhadrak district headquarters hospital (DHH) in critical condition. They are undergoing treatment now, the senior police official added.

A probe into the road mishap is underway.
