Over 5.7 lakh beneficiaries deprived of Covid assistance in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: At least 2,09,650 beneficiaries in the first phase and 3,64,495 beneficiaries in the second phase have been deprived of Covid assistance, informed Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak today.

Minister Nayak said this in the House of Legislative Assembly during Monsoon Session while replying to a question raised by Khandapada BJD MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik.

MLA Patnaik asked, “What was the total number of ration cardholders in Odisha during the FY 2019-20? Out of the total number, how many beneficiaries were provided with Covid assistance in the first and second phases? How many ration cardholders were deprived of the assistance money?”

“Total number of ration cardholders in Odisha was 95,51,694 during the FY 2019-20 and it is 95,85,766 now. Out of the total number, 93,42,044 families were provided with Covid assistance in the first phase and 92,21,271 families in the second phase,” Minister Nayak replied.
