Ashwini Vaishnaw takes oath as Rajya Sabha member for 2nd time from Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Minister for Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, took oath as the Member of Rajya Sabha representing Odisha for the second consecutive time.

The BJP parliamentarian was administered the oath of office by Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar at the new Parliament building in New Delhi.

The former bureaucrat and IIT-Kanpur alumnus took the oath in Odia language.

A total of 14 political leaders were sworn in as the Rajya Sabha members today. Apart from Vaishnaw, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and two others from Odisha — Subhashish Khuntia and Debashish Samantaray — took the oath before the Rajya Sabha Chairman.
