Cold wave grips Odisha; G Udayagiri coldest at 10 degree C

Bhubaneswar: The cold wave conditions gripped several parts of Odisha with drop in temperature below 15 degree Celsius in many places in last 24 hours.

G Udayagiri recorded the minimum temperature 10 degree, becoming the coldest place in Odisha yesterday night, as per the observation by the Regional Meteorological Centre of IMD today.

Besides G Udayagiri, nine other places registered minimum temperature below 15 degree Celsius. The places were Similiguda (11.4 degree C), Phulbani (12 degree C), Daringibadi (12 degree C), Boudh (13 degree C), Koraput (13.5 degree C), Bhawanipatna (14 degree C), Bargarh (14.5 degree C), Jharsuguda (13.8 degree C) and Keonjhar (14.8 degree C).

The night temperature in Sundargarh and Angul stood at 15 degree Celsius.

While Odisha’s Twin City Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 18.5 degree C and 19 degree C respectively, the minimum temperature in Khordha was 19 degree C, Puri 21.2 degree C, Jagatsinghpur 20.3 degree C, Kendrapara 18 degree C, Jajpur 21 degree C, Chandbali 19.6 degree C, Balasore 17.3 degree C, Baripada 16.5 degree C, Hirakud 16.1 degree C, Deogarh 17.6 degree C, Dhenkanal 19.5 degree C, Nayagarh 17 degree C, Sambalpur 17.1 degree C, Sonepur 17.2 degree C, Balangir 17 degree C, Titilagarh 17.6 degree C, Nuapada 18 degree C, Chatrapur 21 degree C, Goaplpur 19.7 degree C, Paralakhemundi 18.5 degree C and Malkangiri 18.5 degree C last night.

According to IMD forecast, the cold wave condition is expected to aggravate further across the state from tomorrow.
