COVID -ve report mandatory for bride, groom, kin before wedding in Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration today made COVID-19 test (Rapid Antigen) mandatory for bride, groom, their family members and wedding event participants before the marriage.

They need to undergo the test before seeking permission from the district administration for wedding.

Permission for wedding will not be granted by the district administration if any family member or bride/groom tests positive for COVID-19, said Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.

The official has directed all BDOs and Tehsildars of the district to implement the norm. Strict action will be taken against the violators, he said.

As per the direction of the Odisha government, wedding ceremonies are being carried out in the state with 50 participants, including bride and groom.
