Cyclone Sitrang: Rainfall likely in these Odisha districts today, tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to experience rainfall today and tomorrow due to predicted cyclone ‘Sitrang’ over the Bay of Bengal.

Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Puri today, the IMD forecasted.

Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack tomorrow, it added.

The agency has also issued wind warning for Odisha in connection with the system.

“Squally wind speed reaching 35-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph is very likely along & off Odisha coast on 23rd October, squally wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph is very likely along & off Odisha coast on 24th October and squally wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph likely along and off Balasore district & 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph along & off remaining north coastal area of Odisha on 25th October,” it said.
