Cyclonic circulation may form over Bay of Bengal around Nov 14 with chances of cyclogenesis

Bhubaneswar: A fresh cyclonic circulation may form over south Andaman Sea/ southeast Bay of Bengal around November 14 with chances of cyclogenesis (formation of depression or higher intensity), the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted.

The system may move west northwestwards and intensify gradually, the agency said.

“There is likelihood of development of a fresh cyclonic circulation over south Andaman Sea/ southeast Bay of Bengal around 14th November. It is likely to move west northwestwards and intensify gradually,” the IMD said in its North Indian Ocean Extended Range Outlook for Cyclogenesis.

“Probability of cyclogenesis is assigned over southeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood towards end of week 1 (November 11 to 17) or beginning of week 2 (November 18 to 24),” the outlook added.

On the other hand, dry weather is likely to prevail across Odisha during the next five days.

“Minimum temperature is very likely to fall by 3-4 °C at most places over the districts of Odisha during the next 3 to 4 days,” the Regional Meteorological Centre here said today.
