Electric wire laid for boar hunting claims lives of two minor boys in Odisha

Sonepur: In a tragic incident, two minor boys died as they came in contact with electric wire laid for hunting boar in Odisha’s Sonepur district, today.

The deceased have been identified as Jeet Dungdung and Ramesh of Hatilimunda village.

According to reports, the two had gone to farmlands with their fathers to guard paddy crop, last night. While returning home, they came in contact with the wire near Sinhapali village under Ulunda Forest Range of the district and were electrocuted to death.

A pall of gloom descended on the locality after the untimely demise of the children.

Locals alleged that though similar incidents had taken place in the area in the past, the Forest Department was yet to take any step to prevent such mishaps.
