Odisha to be child labour-free by 2025: Minister

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has aimed to make the state child labour-free by 2025, informed Labour & Employees’ State Insurance Minister Srikanta Sahu in the Legislative Assembly, today.

Replying to a question by MLA Prafulla Samal, Sahu said the Government has been executing a State Action Plan for Elimination of Child Labour in coordination with other departments in order to eradicate child labour.

As many as 420 child labourers have been rescued in the state during the last five years. Most of them were working at hotels, dhabas, garages and other business sectors, the minister said.
