Odisha: Woman elopes with boyfriend after locking up father in-law, husband files complaint
Filing a complaint with Airport police, Sandip stated that Namita, with whom he had married in February this year, took advantage of his absence and ran off with her boyfriend after locking her father in-law while the latter was asleep.
Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a man has reached out to police alleging that his newly-wed wife locked up his father and eloped with her boyfriend in Ganganagar within Airport police limits in Odisha Capital here today. The man, Sandip Nayak, also accused his wife Namita of decamping with gold jewellery worth over Rs 10 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh cash while his father was sleeping.
Filing a complaint with Airport police, Sandip stated that Namita, with whom he had married in February this year, took advantage of his absence and ran off with her boyfriend after locking her father in-law while the latter was asleep. As per the FIR, Namita was having an extra-marital affair and hatched up this plan with her lover. When Sandip was away, she planned the entire thing. On finding her father in-law sleeping, she took all the valuables, locked him up and eloped with her boyfriend.
When Sandip tried to get in touch with Namita after getting to know about the incident, she did not receive the calls, the complaint read.
Airport Police said a case has been registered and the matter is under investigation.
