Southwest Monsoon withdraws completely from Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The southwest monsoon 2023 withdrew completely from Odisha, informed the India Meteorological Department today.

According to Bhubaneswar MeT, the southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the entire Odisha today 13th October. The line of withdrawal of the southwest monsoon now passes through Forbesganj, Malda, Vishakhapatnam, Nalgonda, Raichur, and Vengurla.

The IMD predicted a low pressure over the Bay of Bengal.

As per the North Indian Ocean Extended Range Outlook for Cyclogenesis, a cyclonic circulation may form over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea during the end of week 1 (13.10.2023-19.10.2023) or the beginning of week 2 (20.10.2023-26.10.2023).

Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the south and adjoining central Bay of Bengal during the beginning of week 2, the outlook said.

It is likely to move westwards towards north Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh coasts with low probability of further intensification into depression over southwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal during week 2, the outlook added.
