Auto rickshaw turns turtle in Balasore, driver dead

Balasore: An auto rickshaw driver was killed after the vehicle overturned here this morning.

The deceased was identified as Jayant Kumar Das (33), a resident of Telanga Sahi in Balasore district.

The incident took place near Nalamganj in the wee hours when Jayant was on his way back after dropping a passenger at DRDO in Chandipur.

According to reports, Jayant had carried a passenger from the Balasore Railway Station to DRDO early in the morning. While returning, he lost his control from the auto on a street near Nilamganj following which the vehicle fell into a nullah and it overturned.

The locals rescued the auto driver and rushed him to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

After getting information, the police reached the accident site and launched a probe into the incident.

However, the family smelled the accident as ‘foul play’. They alleged that someone had pushed Jayant into a nullah and he died.
