Elderly man dies, child critical as crackers explode in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: In a tragic incident, a 65-year-old man died and his grandson sustained critical injuries when crackers made by the former exploded at Bailo village under Kishorenagar police limits of Odisha’s Cuttack district today.

The mishap took place when Debendra Samal, the deceased, was manufacturing crackers near his house and his five-year-old grandson Sandip was playing at the spot.

Unfortunately, the crackers exploded leaving the two grievously injured. Both were rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital, where Debendra was declared brought dead. The child is undergoing treatment and his condition is stated to be critical.
