Six mobile phones hidden in soil in Bhubaneswar jail recovered

Bhubaneswar: Authorities of the Bhubaneswar Jail today recovered six mobile phones concealed in soil on the premises of Special Jail in the Odisha Capital. As part of the ‘Operation Clean Up’ launched by the Odisha Prisons, officials of the Bhubaneswar Jail searched for contraband items in the Special Jail.

Also, the jail officials recovered four SIM cards, five mobile phone chargers, one pen drive, five mobile phone batteries and 250 grams of unclaimed ganja like substances from various places of the Special Jail.

The ganja like substances was destroyed as per Rule 446(a) of Odisha Model Jail Manual, 2020.

An FIR was also lodged at the Laxmisagar P.S. on 29.05.2021 and the seized articles were handed over to the police.
