NTPC Dulanga organises free eye check-up and cataract screening camp

Sundargarh: NTPC Dulanga, in association with the Jai Prakash Hospital and Research Centre Pvt Limited, conducted a free eye check-up and cataract screening camp yesterday for the economically weaker sections of the society and the residents of all nearby villages.

The camp was inaugurated by Neeraj Jalota, Head of Project, NTPC Dulanga in the presence of other senior NTPC officials at Primary Health Centre, R&R Colony.

Cataract is the most significant cause of bilateral blindness in India. Although treatable by a medical professional, many cases remain untreated due to the expenses involved in the treatment of cataracts. NTPC Dulanga along with their medical associates and support of J P Hospital has extended support to more than 23 cataract cases detected at the camp. A total of 147 people registered for eye check-up. Along with check-up 100 reading glasses were also distributed to the patients.

Head of Project, Neeraj Jalota personally interacted with all the participants and sensitised them about the importance of eye health and showed his assurance of medical support to them. The event ended on a positive note, with rural administration and rural people appreciating the efforts of NTPC Dulanga towards equal healthcare access to all.
