Bhubaneswar, Sep 8:

Romanian woman Moren Elena, who was spotted with Swami Shankarananda Giri at a hotel in Chandikhol last month, landed at the State Commission for Women (SCW), Odisha here on Tuesday demanding action against Zee Kalinga Odia news channel editor Satya Prakash Nayak and a few other reporters for misbehaving with her and threatening her while he was leading a Zee Kalinga team in the Mahila thana.

The woman alleged that she had lodged a complaint at the Mahila police station, but no action had been taken on her complaint. Mahila police station remained content with just registering a case, she said.

Explaining her presence with the Baba in a hotel in Chandikhol, the Romanian lady said she had accompanied the Baba to attend a national level workshop held in Kolkata on August 4. "We had to halt at Chandikhol on the way back because Swamiji was suddenly taken ill," she said.

Meanwhile, Zee Kalinga editor Satya Prakash  Nayak has moved the Odisha High Court seeking an anticipatory bail in the case filed by parents and guradians of some students of Prabhujee English medium school in Bhubaneswar. The school is run by Kriya Yoga ashram, which is headed by Shankarananda Giri.

Moving a petition seeking anticipatory bail on behalf of his client on Monday, senior counsel Dharanidhar Nayak argued that the charges levelled against Nayak were baseless and were intended to muzzle the voice of the channel.

It may be noted that Sahid Nagar police had registered the cas against Nayak, who is currently travelling in Spain, under sections 500, 504, 505 and 120 (B) of IPC.

Curiously, even as he has moved the High Court seeking anticipatory bail, Nayak continues to be defiant. "My effort will continue come may what (sic)," he said in a Facebook post from Spain on Sunday. He will be back in the state on Sep 15.
